When alpha particles pass through the detector’s entrance window, they can lose part of their energy via interactions with the window material—leading to peak broadening or energy shift in the spectrum. The EP-FD series addresses this by incorporating an ultra-thin entrance window, which significantly minimizes energy loss during particle entry and preserves the full energy signature of the incident alpha radiation.
